The 2005 Gold Proof Half Sovereign stands out as a truly special edition in the long history of the Sovereign series. Unlike most Half Sovereigns that feature the iconic St George and the Dragon design, this edition carries a one-year-only Royal Arms shield reverse, created by renowned artist Timothy Noad.
Why Buy the 2005 Gold Proof Half Sovereign?
- Exclusive One-Off Design – The shield reverse is a rare departure from the traditional Sovereign design, making it highly collectible.
- Designed by Timothy Noad – A masterful reworking of Britain’s historic Royal Arms, seen only on this issue.
- Limited Mintage – With fewer struck compared to standard issues, the 2005 Half Sovereign remains rare.
- Struck in 22-Carat Gold – Contains 3.99g of gold, maintaining the classic Half Sovereign standard.
- Graded NGC PF69 Ultra Cameo – One of the highest possible grades, signifying near-perfect quality.
