Issued to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Bank of England (1694–1994), this exceptional proof £2 gold coin is struck in 22-carat gold and graded PF69 Ultra Cameo by NGC - just one point from perfection.

The reverse, designed by Leslie Durbin, features a detailed representation of the original Bank of England building, flanked by the symbolic figure of Britannia holding her trident and shield. The obverse displays Raphael Maklouf’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, used on United Kingdom coinage from 1985 to 1997.

With its limited mintage and strong cameo contrast, this issue has become a key piece among collectors of modern British commemorative gold proofs. The 1994 £2 is historically significant as the last of the pre-bi-metallic £2 coins and is prized for both its artistry and rarity.
