The 2022 Gold Proof Memorial Quarter Sovereign is a historic and deeply symbolic release, struck to honour the transition from the Elizabethan era to the Carolean age. Following the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this coin was issued to debut the first-ever coinage portrait of HM King Charles III.
The Martin Jennings Portrait
The obverse features the first definitive coinage portrait of King Charles III, sculpted by Martin Jennings. In accordance with a centuries-old tradition where each monarch faces the opposite direction of their predecessor, the King faces left. This portrait is "uncrowned," maintaining the historic convention for male monarchs on British coinage.
Special Memorial Royal Arms Design
For the 2022 Memorial collection, the traditional St George and the Dragon was replaced with an intricate interpretation of the Royal Arms by designer Jody Clark. This unique, one-year-only design serves as a dignified tribute to the 70-year reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

All parcels are shipped discreetly and fully insured for peace of mind.
We currently do not ship internationally. Orders can only be delivered to the UK address provided at checkout, and we’re unable to send to PO Box addresses.

Returns Policy
For non-bullion items (such as proof coins, graded coins or accessories), we’re happy to accept returns within 14 days of receipt if you feel your coin is not as described and provided the item is returned in its original condition, please contact us and we’ll be glad to help.
If an item is returned for reasons other than being not as described, return postage will be the responsibility of the buyer.
