An Ultra-Rare Pedigree: Only 125 Struck
Capture the magic of a holiday classic with one of the rarest modern 50p coins ever produced. This 2022 22ct Gold Proof 50p was hand-selected for the 2023 Trial of the Pyx—the historic 700-year-old judicial ceremony at Goldsmiths' Hall where the nation's coinage is tested for absolute precision. This "Trial" pedigree represents the pinnacle of Royal Mint provenance.
With an incredibly low limited mintage of just 125 coins, this issue was already a "key date" for collectors. Finding a specimen with the official Trial of the Pyx attribution makes this an elite-tier investment piece that rarely appears on the secondary market.
Marking the 10th anniversary of the beloved sequel, this is the first-ever UK coin to feature the Snowdog. It also carries immense historical weight as one of the final 50p issues to bear the effigy of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, struck in her final year of reign.
- Extreme Scarcity: Only 125 coins minted in this limited Gold Proof edition.
- Trial of the Pyx Pedigree: The ultimate assurance of quality and historical significance.
- Historic Obverse: Features the final definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
- Tax Status: UK Legal Tender and 100% Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free.

Yes. Every NGC-certified coin has a unique certification number visible on the slab label. You can verify the grade, coin details and population data at NGCcoin.uk using the cert number shown.
The NGC census records how many examples of each coin have been graded at each level. A Top Pop coin means no other example has achieved a higher grade — making it the finest certified specimen in existence for that issue.
