This is a complete five-coin set of the 2012 Diamond Jubilee Gold Proof Sovereign collection — Quarter Sovereign, Half Sovereign, full Sovereign, Double Sovereign and Quintuple Sovereign — with every coin individually certified NGC PF70 Ultra Cameo, the maximum attainable grade. Assembling all five denominations at the top possible grade is a genuine achievement in itself, making this a standout centrepiece set rather than five individually sourced coins.
Each coin carries a one-year-only reverse design by British sculptor Paul Day, created after The Royal Mint held a competition among five artists to mark Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee — the 60th anniversary of her accession to the throne. Day's reinterpretation of Benedetto Pistrucci's classic Saint George and the Dragon takes a more dramatic, Arthurian approach: a medieval knight locked in combat with a larger, more menacing dragon, with the engraver's initials "PD" below the horse's hoof and the date set to the left. It was only the third time in the modern Sovereign's history that Pistrucci's design had been set aside for a special occasion, following 1989 and 2002.
The obverse across all five coins carries Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, used on UK coinage between 1998 and 2015.

Why This Set Stands Out
The 2012 Diamond Jubilee Sovereign is one of the most collected one-year-only designs in the modern series, and sourcing all five denominations at PF70 Ultra Cameo is considerably harder than finding any single coin at that grade — particularly the larger Double and Quintuple Sovereigns. With an official cap of just 999 sets, and likely fewer actually issued, a complete top-graded set represents a rare opportunity to own the entire Paul Day design run at its technical best.
As UK legal tender gold, these coins are exempt from Capital Gains Tax for UK residents and free from VAT under current investment gold rules. Browse our full range of graded gold Sovereigns to explore more one-year-only designs and complete sets.
